Resources for Independent Artists

Updated: Mar 17

This page will be updated with resources aggregated by different organizations to assist independent artists who have lost income due to cancelled or postponed gigs/performances.

Update 3/17:

Alanah's COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Artists & Freelancers

Created by Alanah Nichole Davis

There are many many individuals and families who will be impacted economically by event, show & travel related cancellations. This all started with me dedicating $100 of my own money to be split two ways & distributed electronically to two artists or freelancers in need. I've now donated to over 10 Artists & Freelancers in need & raised over $1,000!

To apply fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/ZctUY3HjLHEebvDT7

Artist Relief Tree (ART)

Created by Morgan Brophy, Marco Cammarota & friends

We intend to use this money to support artists – particularly freelance artists. We aim to be the bridge which ensures that AS MANY ARTISTS AS POSSIBLE receive at least a little bit of help. Hope and solidarity help, too. We are offering a one-off, first-come-first-served $250 “solidarity donation” for artists who apply. Go to https://forms.gle/gKMdh8eSMeBtbk5m8 and fill out the Google form. Anyone who is an artist (of any kind) can request funds. We plan to fulfill every request with a flat US$250 on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Emergency Financial Assistance for Teaching Artists

Teaching artists lift up our students. They breathe joy, creativity, and discovery into our classrooms and use their art form to spark student curiosity and a love of learning. Let’s take care of this amazing community.

100% of all tax-deductible donations given to this campaign will go directly to our artists who are impacted by school closures and cancellations. Young Audiences will cover all donation processing fees. And, thanks to National Young Audiences, who is waiving our affiliate dues, we are able to apply $4,375 towards this fund immediately.

Covid-19 Financial Solidarity

If your livelihood is being directly impacted by the Coronavirus crisis and you need support, post requests on this spreadsheet.

Arts Resources During the COVID-19 Outbreak

In times of crisis, artists are often among those most affected. In addition to health concerns, this is a challenging moment for many in our community as we deal with cancelled income and trying to make plans during uncertain times. Creative Capital has always been anchored by a rich spirit of community and mutual generosity, and we believe that continuing communication and exchange are crucial for all of us. As COVID-19 continues to spread across the United States, we have created a list of resources for artists working in all disciplines, as well as arts philanthropists, and arts professionals.
